 No pets inside. You are welcome to bring your pet dog providing it sleeps in your vehicle or outside. It must be on a secure chain or leash at all times, for it's own safety. This is a working farm surrounded by other farms, and neighboring farmers do not tolerate dogs in paddocks with stock. They will not ask questions first. Dogs also get lost in the adjacent forestry block & bush. |
A little History
This home was once the first Baptist Manse in N.Z. Previously located in Bridge Street Nelson. It was built in 1872.
It has been rescued & lovingly prepared for a clean, cosy, comfortable stay. Due to it's age & a hard life, it is not motel standard - but what us kiwis would call a loved family 'bach'. We do all we can to ensure you enjoy your holiday with us in the beautiful Motueka Valley.
Amenities and Features
She has many 'bumps & bruises'. If you are expecting $150 - $250+ normal holiday home quality, this old character is not for you.
If you appreciate that you have the opportunity to enjoy a fun holiday on a budget, at less than $100 a night & can love her the way she is - she is waiting for you!

- Five minutes from the beautiful Motueka river swimming holes.
- Ten minutes to Tapawera village - Takeaway or dine in anybody ? Hire a movie from the 4 Square?
- Fifteen minutes to Quinney's bush - $10 a car gets you a day relaxing under the tree while the children use the giant water slide, the bmx track, skate park, adventure playground, water hole, flying foxes..
- Forty minutes to Richmond -check out the mini golf & ten pin bowling, the mall & the fantastic aquatic centre.
- Forty minutes to Motueka - Abel Tasman National Park! Grab a kayak, jump on the water taxi, walk or relax at Kaiteriteri's golden beach. Skating, rock climbing or cinema at the indoor recreation centre, mini golf. Are you the sky dive or pilot a stunt plane type? or prefer the many galleries, crafts, wineries, cafes & restaurants & the museums?
- Sixty minutes to Lake Rotoiti & Rainbow Ski Field
- Two hours to Marlborough & the beautiful Queen Charlotte Sounds or two and a half hours to the wild West Coast
